Alexios Justinian, also known as Strategos Alexios, General Alexios, or Alexios I is the present leader of the Theme of Nikopolis. Having been born in the Old Empire which the Nikephorans claim to descend from, Alexios became the chosen leader of the Nikephoran Expedition sent by the Old Empire to discover and colonize new lands in the hope of preserving their culture and traditions from the imminent collapse of their homeland. He has led Nikopolis from its inception in the year 11, though his reign was stagnated by a long illness which kept him away from leadership between the years 16 and 23, though he did eventually recover.
